NOTTINGHAM ORGANIC GARDENERS ......promoting sustainable gardening |
Our aims and objectives are to promote the knowledge of organic methods of cultivation. We are also concerned to encourage the interest in sustainable gardening and a more localised food culture.
We meet every month for sociable talks and discussions about organic gardening and related issues. As well as learning from speakers with specific expertise we also pool our own knowledge and experience of gardening organically and using recources sustainably.
In addition to monthly meetings we organise a number of visits each year to organic producers, farms and gardens.
We are also represented at local events where our stand promotes both the group and its interests to the public in general. |
NOGs now has a group allotment where members can work together putting into practice principles of organic growing. The allotment will also provide the opportunity for us to have socials, summer meetings and to have practical demonstrations of organic techniques for our members and the public.
Nottingham Organic Gardeners are the local group of The Soil Association and Garden Organic whose work we support. We are also affiliated to The Royal Horticultural Society.
